Home and lifestyle digital creator Katie has a passion for interiors and documents her love of modern country neutral styling over on Instagram as our_home_on_thehill.
Over the last 9 years, in between raising our 2 gorgeous girls, we’ve slowly been turning our humble 3 bedroom semi into a cosy, modern country home.
Taking your time with renovations and decorating also means having chance for taste and style to evolve and mature – and for me, part of this maturing has meant moving away from synthetic fibres and a new found love for warm, natural materials and fibres. Carpets being no exception - I’m always looking for small ways we can live more sustainably and reducing our plastic consumption is a priority for us.
We recently got around to a well overdue master bedroom makeover and this is probably one of our proudest transformations. Stripping the room right back, we added modern fitted wardrobes and statement panelling, using a soft, neutral colour palette and adding black accents for a modern edge. The crowning glory in this room was the beautiful Cosy Weave carpet in ‘calm’. The colour couldn’t be more perfect and complements the furniture and décor perfectly, creating a cosy, tranquil space.
To add continuity throughout the upstairs of our home, we took Cosy Weave through to the stairs and landing, as well as our girls’ bedrooms too. At long last, we no longer have a patchwork of different carpet colours in every room and the upstairs of our home finally feels warm, cosy and cohesive.
Lovingly crafted in Britain from 100% wool, the quality of these carpets is easy to see and feel. Soft and cosy, yet durable and hard-wearing, they’re the truly the perfect finishing touch and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the finished space.
